Vijita Pandey received her Master of Building Engineering and Management degree from a top ranked college for architecture, the School of Architecture & Planning in Delhi, India. Vijita's knowledge and skills were the foundation for progressively more responsible positions at two prestigious global construction firms, Colliers International and the Dar Group, where she expanded her architectural design and project management skills.
Her first position after college was working with Colliers International in Delhi, India, as a project coordinator. She advanced to assistant project manager within a little over a year. In her new position, she managed large to mid-scale projects in the hospitality, commercial, and residential areas. From drafting plans for project proposals to leading site meetings and tracking project progress, Vijita received hands-on experience in all aspects of residential and commercial construction. It was during this time that her passion for value engineering emerged, as she often reviewed construction drawings and re-engineered changes that resulted in cost savings and structural improvements.
In 2009, Vijita left Colliers International to serve as an architect, working her way within two years to senior architect with Dar Al-handasah in Pune, India. Dar Al-handasah is part of the Dar Group with 18,000+ employees worldwide, and one of Dar Group's principal design centers. While with the Dar Group, Vijita worked on large-scale projects such as the Grand Mosque in Dushanbe, Tajikistan; Princess Nourah Bint Abdul Rahman University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and the addition of chalets and an apartment building at the Intercontinental Hotel Resort in Doha, Qatar. She left the Dar Group to pursue freelance work as a project architect where she managed projects in Pune, India, for three years.
In addition to her focus on value engineering, Vijita is also passionate about construction that is environmentally responsible. She is a LEED Certified Accredited Professional in building design and construction (BD+C). Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is a program that sets standards used internationally for the design, construction and maintenance of environmentally sustainable buildings and infrastructure. Vijita's knowledge and unique skill set further enhances and broadens the capabilities of the TK Design & Associates' team.
