Joshua Knost started his architectural career in a very interesting fashion. After graduating with his bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Michigan's A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning in 2016, Joshua accepted a position with Breakout Escape Rooms in Royal Oak. As a general manager of the company's Ann Arbor location, Joshua oversaw a team of employees and managed all facets of the business. His education and creative talents became true assets for the company when he was tasked with creating new concepts and assisting with construction of four locations in Michigan and Florida.
Joshua used design software such as Rhino, AutoCAD, Photoshop and Illustrator to aid in concept design and drafting and he also gained experience with building codes, zoning ordinances and usage regulations as well as having hands-on experience with small-scale construction projects. Joshua honed his documentation production skills in this position as well as in a subsequent position as a project graphic designer with RPB Safety in Royal Oak. RPB specializes in respiratory protection products and Joshua assisted the lead industrial designer in producing safety manuals and graphic materials for international publication.
Joshua has also pursued his creative passions through work as a freelance artist and designer, creating graphic portraits and acrylic murals for music industry professionals, social media content creators and other private clients. Joshua brought his architectural and management expertise to TK Design & Associates in August 2021 and is currently a designer with the company's custom home design team. In addition to his creative talents, Joshua is also proficient in both Spanish and Swedish.
